Wolverine Claw animationHere is one of the shots we worked on for Wolverine. It is the x-ray view of Wolverine’s claw coming out of his hands for the first time after he has been coated by adamantium. The director wanted the audience to understand the pain that Wolverine goes through every time he extends his claws. In particular this time his claws are no longer bone, but metal. This makes them wider. You can see how they push through fissures and breaks in his bones, shoving the bones out of the way as the claws come through. Each time he extends his claws the bones in his hand and wrist are pushed around. He might be a mutant, but he breaks his hand every time he produces his claws.
